Colleen Baybutt is a certified Senior Professional in Human
Resources and Founding Principal for HR Business Solutions, a Virginia
corporation since 1999. Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in
Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. Colleen has leveraged
her large (Fortune 10) employer experience to assist employers with their
benefit compliance and human resources efforts. For example, she has assisted
private and non-profit corporations of various sizes through start-up/licensure
processes, mergers, plant closings, restructuring, 401(k) plan corrections,
OFCCP compliance audits and daily oversight of human resources and related
functions. With over 20 years of experience in human resources planning and
administration, she offers a unique combination of management consulting and
practical Human Resources application expertise.
Katherine Earle, Senior Human Resources Consultant, offers 26
years of hands-on professional experience: 16 years in Human Resources with
Sovran Bank (now Bank of America) and as Director of HR for the Virginia State
Bar, 10 years in Employee Benefits as Manager of Employee Benefits for Overnite
Transportation and as Director of Account Management for Southern Health.
Katherine understands the unique time and resources challenges faced by
HR/Benefits managers and can assist clients in a broad variety of projects,
with particular emphasis on employee communications. Katherine graduated magna
cum laude from the University of Richmond and is a certified Senior
Professional in Human Resources.
Rebecca Amthor-Bone, Senior Human Resources Consultant, has
over twenty years of progressive experience in Human Resources. She specializes
in Benefits and Compensation Planning and Analysis, Employee Communications and
HR Policy and Program Development. During her 15 year career with Philip Morris
USA, a Fortune 50 Company, she held several leadership roles and was
instrumental in many key HR projects involving a large salaried, hourly and
union workforce. She has a BS degree in Industrial Psychology with a
concentration in Business Administration from Slippery Rock University. Rebecca
currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
Valerie Hite, CCP, Human Resources Consultant, brings 11 years
of Human Resources experience from three Fortune 100 companies (James River
Corporation, Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Owens & Minor). Valerie’s
expertise is in Executive Compensation. She has proven strengths in designing
incentive plans, interpreting data from executive compensation surveys and
making recommendations on competitive total compensation for senior management.
She holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Longwood College and a
Masters in Counselor Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a
Certified Compensation Professional.
Sarah Burgess, PHR, Human Resources Consultant, offers 12
years of human resources management and consulting experience. Sarah has
managed self-insured welfare plans, published HR newsletters, and taught
college-level employee benefit plan courses at West Virginia State University.
She has assisted employers in workers’ compensation initiatives, COBRA and
Flexible Spending Account administration, affirmative action reporting and HR
compliance audits. She holds a M.S. degree in Industrial and Labor Relations.
Karen Millican, Human Resources Consultant, assists clients in
managing daily payroll and human resources administration. She holds a B.S.
degree in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. She
has experience in staffing, benefits and payroll systems implementation,
FMLA/COBRA/WC administration, DOT and wage and hour compliance for multi-site
employers.
Elizabeth Martin, Senior Human Resources Consultant, offers 23
years of experience in Human Resources, specializing in Compensation. At
LandAmerica Financial Group, one of Fortune’s Best Places to Work, she served
as Vice President/Compensation Manager. As Human Resources Manager at McGuire
Woods LLP, she was responsible for Employee Relations, Compensation and HR
Information Systems. As Director of Compensation and HRIS at Circuit City, she
helped build HR internally and supported culture change as the company moved
from growth to maturity. She was responsible for designing and implementing the
pay plans for Circuit City, Car Max, First North American Bank, and other
related companies. She also served as the Director of Compensation for Overnite
Transportation. With her wide range of experience Elizabeth offers a wealth of
information and resources for our clients. Elizabeth holds a BBA in Marketing
from James Madison University and an MBA from the University of Richmond. She
is a Certified Trainer, Certified Compensation Professional, and a certified
Senior Professional in Human Resources.
